With over 50 chocolatiers, 90 local brands, and 3 international brands, the festival highlighted impressive collections of pralines, bean-to-bar chocolate, and artisanal holiday treats, attracting thousands of visitors eager to discover unique tastes and sweet innovations.

The History of Chocolate

From Sacred Rituals to Contemporary Art Chocolate originated in Central America, approximately 4000 years ago, initially prepared as a bitter drink from cocoa powder, used in religious and social rituals by the Aztec and Mayan tribes.

At Chocolate Saga 2025, this historical journey was celebrated through an immersive thematic exhibition, which illustrated the evolution of chocolate from a sacred product to a symbol of European luxury and, subsequently, a universal delicacy.

2025 Edition Novelties: Art, Perfume, and Innovation

For the first time in the festival’s history, visitors could admire a gallery of unique chocolate sculptures, created by internationally awarded masters: Marinel Bejan, Rodica Bunea, and Vera Maxim. These ephemeral creations depicted cultural personalities and Romanian symbols, demonstrating that chocolate is not just a food, but also an artistic medium of expression.

The 2025 edition introduced a sensory first: gourmet perfumes created by award-winning Romanian perfumers, through the brand Meus Art Parfumery. Chocolate notes intertwined with accents of leather, pepper, coffee, and musk, offering a unique olfactory experience, perfectly complementary to the tastings.

Visitors had the opportunity to participate in bean-to-bar tasting workshops, guided by international expert Martin Christy. These sessions taught the public how to recognize fine textures, aromatic balance, and the authenticity of top-tier chocolate – transforming simple tasting into a lesson in sensory refinement.

Chocolate Saga 2025 brought an impressive palette of flavors and combinations:
– Creamy and smooth milk chocolate, prepared artisanally
– Intense dark chocolate, with notes of red fruits, coffee, or exotic spices
– Bold combinations: sea salt, chili pepper, lavender, red wine, saffron, pistachio, tahini, rose, frankincense
– Pralines filled with natural creams infused with buckwheat tea or freeze-dried fruits
– Bean-to-bar varieties, made from manually selected cocoa beans, from origin to bar

Live Demonstrations and Interactive Workshops
Throughout the three days of the festival, live demonstrations held hourly by the most talented Romanian chocolatiers revealed the secrets of perfect pralines, tempering and molding techniques, as well as surprising flavor combinations.

The creative workshops allowed visitors to:
– Create their own personalized chocolate bar
– Experience painting with melted chocolate
– Learn basic techniques of artisanal chocolaterie

Chocolate Saga remains an event dedicated to families. The little ones enjoyed creative workshops with colored sand, caricature sessions and face painting, and educational activities about the process of transforming cocoa beans into chocolate. Admission was free for children under 10 and for people with disabilities, encouraging inclusion and shared joy.

Besides chocolate, the festival also celebrated the art of coffee and exotic teas. Visitors could taste:
– Gayo coffee from Sumatra, Indonesia, renowned for its complex aroma
– Natural teas and infusions, perfect for cool autumn evenings
– Selected wines, recommended by the sommeliers of Domeniile Sâmburești to complement the chocolate experience

Cultural Corner and Immersive Experiences
For moments of relaxation, the festival set up a Reading Corner, where visitors could savor a good book alongside fine chocolate. At the end of the visit, an interactive 360° experience invited participants to become protagonists in a magical visual story, concluding the day on a dreamy note.

Chocolate Saga 2025: More than a Fair – A Celebration of the Senses
Chocolate Saga 2025 was not just a chocolate festival, but a complete multisensory experience, where art, tradition, innovation, and passion for taste met in a spectacle of aromas, colors, and emotions. Whether you are a connoisseur of fine chocolate, a parent looking for family activities, or simply a lover of sweets, Chocolate Saga remains the perfect destination to enter the warm atmosphere of the holidays – with an artisanal chocolate bar in hand and a smile on your face.

“Chocolate Saga is the only chocolate festival in Romania – a celebration of taste, creativity, and the joy of sharing sweet moments with loved ones.”
