Again and again, the media is talking about AI taking jobs away, but that’s not completely true. AI is also creating new ones! Come with me to the Forum of European Journalism Students (FEJS), which took place from October 23rd until October 27th in Porto, Portugal. During the event, journalism students from all over Europe gathered to discuss the future of the industry and of course, the role of technology. Here, I had the chance to speak with Jack Roberts, an AI-assisted reporter at Newsquest Media Group, about what his job actually looks like. Instead of replacing journalists, he explained how AI supports the newsroom.
