Georgios Karagiorgos is a Journalist and Researcher in Media. He has been a Research Fellow at the Regional Academy of the United Nations (RAUN) in collaboration with the OSCE. He is an Associate Researcher at the International Peace Journalism Lab and the ICSJ- International Center for the Safety for Journalists. His work spans freedom of expression, media pluralism, public diplomacy, media literacy and the role of journalism in safeguarding democratic discourse, with research and journalistic contribution to national and international media initiatives.
He holds a Master’s in Political Communication from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a background in the humanities. He has received fellowships and scholarships from the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, the European University Institute (EUI), the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, and EAVI. As Amnesty International Greece’s Youth Delegate to the Global Assembly and Coordinator of the Protection of Protest and Freedom of Expression Network, he combines frontline advocacy with academic insight into media and human rights.
