PulseZ partnership cares about how information about you is used by us and values transparency. Please read through this Policy Statement carefully to understand what data we collect, how we process it, for what purposes, and what your rights are.

 

By registering to the PulseZ Hub, a person authorises the PulseZ partnership to process their data that they used to fill in the registration form. PulseZ partnership confirms compliance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (GDPR).

 

When you register on our platform, you step in an agreement with the PulseZ partnership to use the services, provided on PulseZ Hub in accordance with the Terms of Use.

 

Upon your consent, we process your email address as part of our mailing list, when you have subscribed for receiving updates about the project.

 

When we analyze the utilization of the website in order to report to the European Commission, we may process your data for the purposes of the legitimate interest of the PulseZ partnership and in particular, to fulfill its obligations under the grant agreement concluded with the European Commission.

 

In the event of a legal dispute, the personal data is also processed for the purposes of the legitimate interests of the PulseZ partnership.

 

Data controller
Access to the collected data will be managed by JA Europe AISBL in the person of the DPO, dpo@jaeurope.org.
It’s possible to ask for deletion of my personal data from the PulseZ Hub management system at any time by sending a request to the data controller.

 

What information and data we collect and who has access to them
We receive data directly from you when you register on our platform. We collect and process only data that is strictly necessary to use the available services or that you have decided to share with us. These services are developed to respond to the purposes of our PulseZ project and to help you enjoy and connect with other young content creators.

 

When you decide to register with us, we collect data you provided through registration form. This will allow you to enjoy the full capacity of our services and to complete your user’s profile.

 

Your public profile contains minimum data by default. It is at your own free will and consent to make some data about you public in your profile, such as an email address.

 

All Admins of the PulseZ Hub have access to your data. Only representatives of the PulseZ partnership are allowed to become admins of the website.

 

If content submitted by you is published or if you create a comment on PulseZ Hub, any visitor of the platform will see you as the author of the content or comment.

 

How and why we process your data
We process your data in order to maintain your profile as part of the PulseZ Hub. This includes:
– Managing your public profile;
– Keeping available all the content and comments you create on PulseZ Hub and results of voting thorugh engaged journalism tools that you use on PulseZ Hub;
– Administering the platform;
– For statistical purposes, where the partnership needs to analyse and provide data to the European Commission in accordance with our obligation under the grant agreement and other applicable rules;
– Personal data might be processed in case of a legal dispute.

 

There are no third parties involved in the data processing activities on the PulseZ Hub. The European Commission will be provided only with statistical data (anonymized data) on the users’ activity, which does not constitute personal data.

 

Your rights as a data subject
All users, who are data subjects in the meaning of GDPR, are entitled to the following rights:
– the right to withdraw their consent at any time;
– the right to access their personal data processed on the website;
– the right to correct and update their personal data processed on the website;
– the right to erasure;
– the right to request the restriction of the processing of their personal data.

 

You can exercise any of the rights listed above, by sending a message to the Data Controller.

 

You have the right to submit a complaint before your national data protection authority, if you deem that your data is processed in an unlawful way.

 

How long we store your data
We store your personal data as long as you have a registered account. Should the user’s account be deleted, all personal data is immediately erased/anonymised. For statistical purposes related to the reporting to the European Commission, we may keep data for 5 years after the project ends.
