Generation in motion
In this episode, activist and Kofi Annan NextGen Democracy Prize finalist Érica Moreira joins us for a powerful conversation on what it means to defend democracy in a time of rising polarization and far-right resurgence. From youth-led protests and digital campaigns to grassroots initiatives across Europe, Érica reflects on how young people are reshaping what democracy looks like in practice. We talk about her work with Pela Igualdade and Politics4Her, her experiences supporting asylum seekers in Portugal, France, and Italy, and the deeper questions of identity, inclusion, and political agency in today’s Europe. This is a timely and moving reflection on action, courage, and the collective struggle for a more just and equal future.

Vox Civica-Where Democracy has a Voice is a podcast about how democracy is lived, tested, and reinvented in the modern world. It brings listeners inside the conversations and conflicts that define civic life today — from the streets where protests begin to the institutions where policies take shape. Each episode features voices from across journalism, activism, academia, and digital-rights movements, exploring how people confront power, defend freedoms, and adapt democratic values to an age of surveillance, misinformation, and rapid technological change. In short, it’s a space where critical thinking meets civic imagination — tracing the struggles, ideas, and collaborations that keep democracy alive in the 21st century.
