The European Youth Press (EYP) is all about empowering young media makers to shape the world through fair, independent, and responsible journalism. As a vibrant network of youth media organisations across Europe, EYP connects over 60,000 young journalists from 34 member organisations and observers, creating a powerful community of storytellers and changemakers.

From hands-on workshops and international conferences to creative campaigns and collaborative projects, EYP gives young people the skills, platforms, and connections they need to make their voices heard. It’s a space where ideas turn into action, and where youth-led media drives real conversations about the issues that matter.

EYP also advocates for high standards in journalism education and plays an active role in shaping media policies across Europe. At its core, it's about building a more inclusive, democratic, and sustainable future—one where young people don’t just follow the news, but create it.

Contribution to consortium

The European Youth Press (EYP) transforms youth engagement into action, leveraging its network of journalists, media experts, and member organisations to empower young creators across Europe. Through targeted outreach, training, and mentorship, EYP ensures young people are not just media consumers but active contributors shaping the narratives that define their generation.

To guide project strategies, EYP will conduct a youth-focused needs analysis, engaging young people through surveys, interviews, and discussions. Interactive social media campaigns will spark idea-sharing and feedback, ensuring initiatives reflect the real experiences and aspirations of diverse youth communities.

For outreach, recruitment, and onboarding, EYP will collaborate with member organisations to tap into grassroots networks. Social media activations, webinars, and local events will expand visibility, while mentorship programs and tailored onboarding will create an inclusive environment. Every step will prioritise diversity, ensuring participants reflect Europe's rich cultural landscape.

EYP will also lead the development and testing of an integrated journalism training programme, co-created with industry experts. Real-world insights, hands-on exercises, and continuous feedback will shape a curriculum tailored to the evolving media landscape. Delivered in multiple languages, this programme will equip young creators with the skills, confidence, and platforms to drive meaningful change across Europe.
