Hi! My name is Raya and I’m a part of The Future Now Association, a Bulgarian youth NGO.

We’re sharing some stories from our recent adventures, so feel free to find also other materials from other authors, all labeled TFN stories.

I want to share about an amazing opportunity I had to spend 5 working days in Athens meeting with colleagues from the youth sector, brainstorming and crafting new projects ideas together!

Thanks to You in Europe, one of our partner organizations from Greece, I had the chance to get inspired and collaborate with a group of project managers and youth workers from all over Europe. We found much in common, a lot of desire for meaningful work together, and so much overlap in interests for future development.

What was different and great about this project, was the balance between freedom and structure in our schedule. We shared a lot about our individual organizations and general directions, but after that, we had the chance to structure our own groupwork however worked for us. The topics we chose to focus on were mental health, violence prevention, and inclusion through sports – all directions, which matter greatly to me in the field of youth, and which I consider to be worthwhile endeavors to start or continue as part of our work.

Out of this project, I left with new friends, future collaborations, a ton of inspiration, and 3 project proposals (for now!).
