From Warsaw to Palermo, from Brussels to Belgrade, universities are becoming the stage for powerful protests against inequality and in defence of academic freedom. Recently, the University of Warsaw witnessed a month-long occupation strike organized by students, which ended in success — their demands were heard.
In this video, we speak with members of the Young Circle of the Workers’ Initiative, a student trade union that played a key role in the Warsaw protest. They share their experiences of organizing, sustaining pressure for over a month, and ultimately pushing university authorities and politicians to listen.
