Her Guiness Book Record was, firtstly, with ”The longest live concert by a child”- at the age of 10, where she sang 55 songs for 3 and a half hours. Her second Guiness Record, ”The most CDs released by a child”, was reached together with her brother, Razvan, they had 30 albums.

In 2010 she founded the dance academy ”Andra Gogan’s Academy”.

Through this interview, I aimed to discover Andra Gogan, the person and the artist, and to find out how she managed “to build a castle brick by brick”.

You’ve been on stage since you were a little girl and people have seen you grow and evolve. Can you please tell us what made you want to be the best in everything you do since you were a child?

That’s right, I was extremely competitive as a child, but also extremely passionate about many things. Competitiveness was probably given to me by my zodiac sign (Aries), but I think it also helped me and my brother’s way of being to always perfect our passions and always want more from ourselves.

“I’ve always believed that if you want something…even if you don’t excel in that field, but you are persevering and you do something every day for that passion, there’s no way you can’t grow more and more so that by the end you will get where you want to be.”

"Don't avoid dreaming so you can evolve!"

Over the years you’ve been able to accomplish several dreams and you haven’t given up at all no matter how difficult it was. Do you believe that everything you have achieved so far and continue to achieve is due to hard work, perseverance and passion?

Yes, I’ve always believed that if you want something…even if you don’t excel in that field, but you are persevering and you do something every day for that passion, there’s no way you can’t grow more and more so that by the end you will get where you want to be.

In an interview you said: “The higher you dream, the higher the wish is, then at least half of it happens.” So you encourage us to dream big? But what about those who may no longer have the courage or hope to do this?

Yes, I’ve always been of the opinion that you have to ask a loot from yourself in order to evolve, and the higher you dream (but also do something in that direction), the closer you can get to your dream. If you set your goals high you will certainly do something to achieve them and you will at least get half way to where you want to be. Don’t avoid dreaming so that you can evolve. I believe that even those who have lost hope they should find the strength in their souls to have confidence in themselves and work to fulfill their dream.

Andra likes to dance

You opened your own dance school, “Andra Gogan’s Academy”, where you also teach. What was the idea behind creating this dance school?

Since I was 8-9 years old I discovered my passion for dancing: first step, then street dance, then sports dance (ballroom dance, 10 dance styles I studied from ballroom dance). Each time I was on the dance floor I was very happy and I felt that the whole world was mine. After studying what it was like to dance alone or in pairs I realized that I would like to have my own dance troop.

Together with my parents I opened a dance school to share my passion of dancing with other children. After not even a few months, the teacher my parents hired turned out to be unserious and at the age of 11 I started making choreographies for the troop and showing them to the children while waiting to find another dance teacher for our school.

Seeing that we couldn’t find one and the children and their parents were very excited about what we were doing (very beautiful performances and good results in competitions) I remained the main choreographer of our dance school. From that time until today (about 15 years) the results have not been late in coming and we have about 600 children in the Academy.

Another passion of yours is voice dubbing. Can you share with us what you learned from the characters whose voices you did?

Yes, voice dubbing is a passion since I was 5 years old. I had (and still have) a special timbre that helped me a lot in winning castings for various characters (Princess Sofia, Doc McStuffins etc.). From the characters I have done the voices for, I have learned positivism, joy of life, energy in everyday life.

“There were times when we felt like we were never going to make it, that’s because we wanted this project to be better and better: we filmed in 7 countries, we sprinkled it with 1000’s of special effects, we improved the quality more and more.”

Now, a lot of your time is spent in Los Angeles and you’ve said it’s one of your favorite places in America. What are the things you’ve learned from being there and from the people you’ve worked with and met?

Yes, I live a lot in America with my brother. I like very much it here that it’s warm most of the time and I have the opportunity to spend a lot of time at the beach. Here I have learned that no dream is impossible: what I only dreamed of when I was little (meeting movie stars) has come true. I met and talked to many actors I had only seen in movies. These people showed me that nothing is impossible. This is where I got the energy and power to dream to have my own movie to produce with my brother (Razvan Gogan) who is the coolest director and producer. Without him I wouldn’t have been able to do anything so great. He is extremely intelligent and often my ideas are improved dozens of times with his imagination.
