A globally recognized scholar on social movements, protest policing, corruption, and democratization, she has authored or edited over 100 books and received numerous international awards, including the Mattei Dogan Prize, the Humboldt Research Award, and the 2024 John D. McCarthy Award for Lifetime Achievement.
