Unlike general medicine, most dentistry graduates do not pursue a state-paid residency but enter the private market directly as collaborating dentists.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.libertatea.ro\/stiri\/ce-salarii-se-castiga-in-stomatologie-cat-castiga-un-tehnician-dentar-vs-un-medic-5650756\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to data from recruitment and salary analysis platforms<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a dentist at the beginning of their career earns, on average, around 8,000 net lei per month; however, this income is most often based on a percentage of receipts (between 30% and 40% of the value of the procedures performed). In the first 1-2 years, many dentists <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.paylab.ro\/informatii-calculator-salarii\/medicina-si-asistenta-sociala\/dentist\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">may earn even less, between 4,000 and 5,500 lei<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, until they build their own patient portfolio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>General Medicine: The fixed scale of residency<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For General Medicine graduates who enter the state system through the residency exam, salaries are established by law and increase progressively according to the year of training. <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/legislatie.just.ro\/Public\/DetaliiDocument\/279777\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Emergency Ordinance no. 19\/2024<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a 1st-year resident doctor has a gross basic salary of approximately 7,125 lei, which translates into a net salary of approximately 4,200 &#8211; 4,500 lei, without taking bonuses into account.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Incomes increase as the resident advances in rank:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><b>3rd-year Resident:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> approximately 5,000 &#8211; 5,500 net lei (plus bonuses).<\/span>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><b>6th-7th year Resident:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> can reach a net basic salary of <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/ms.ro\/ro\/informatii-de-interes-public\/buget\/situatie-drepturi-salariale\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">over 6,500 &#8211; 7,000 lei<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>The impact of bonuses and shortage branches<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The major difference in &#8220;take-home pay&#8221; is made by ward bonuses, which can vary between 15% and 85%.
